Terms of service
Last updated 18 August 2026
These terms cover your use of SatChat, an iOS messenger published by Kode Foundry. Using the app means you accept them.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. You pick a username, and it is permanent: releasing one would let somebody else claim it and trade on the trust you built with it. Keep your device passcode to yourself, because anyone holding an unlocked device holds your conversations.
What SatChat is not
SatChat does not provide satellite service. It reacts to the connection your iPhone already has. Whether satellite messaging works for you depends on your iPhone, your carrier and your location, and none of those are ours to promise.
SatChat is not an emergency service. The emergency message sends to contacts you chose and reaches nobody else. For emergency services, use Emergency SOS on your iPhone or call your local emergency number.
Acceptable use
Do not use SatChat to harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate anyone, to send unlawful content, or to attack the service or the people using it. We can suspend or remove an account for any of that.
We cannot read your messages, so moderation works from reports and from metadata. That is a weaker tool than most services use, and we accept it as the cost of the encryption.
Availability
Messages queue on your device and send when a connection allows. We do not guarantee delivery times, and on a very limited connection a message can wait a long time. The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Kode Foundry is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of SatChat, including a message that arrives late or does not arrive.
Ending it
Delete your account in Settings whenever you like. We may end your access if you break these terms.
Changes
We will post changes here and note the date. Continuing to use the app means you accept the revised terms.
